Hi, I’m Madelynn!
I’m an Industrial Designer specializing in outdoor gear and equipment, with a passion for creating innovative, durable, and sustainable products. My expertise spans both hard and soft goods, blending technical performance with thoughtful design.
In 2024, I earned a Bachelor of Industrial Design from Carleton University, where I developed a deep interest in product longevity and sustainability. As a lifelong outdoor enthusiast, I’ve had the opportunity to experience a wide range of activities—including snowboarding, camping, kayaking, hiking, and biking—which continuously inform my design approach.
I believe great outdoor products should enhance experiences, withstand the elements, and minimize environmental impact. My work is driven by a commitment to functional innovation, material exploration, and user- centered design.
Beyond design, my greatest passion is martial arts—karate, jiu-jitsu, boxing, and Muay Thai. In 2018, I earned my black belt in karate and later that year became a World Karate and Kickboxing Champion, representing Team Canada in Dublin, Ireland. Martial arts have been a defining part of my life, shaping my approach to problem-solving, leadership, discipline, and critical thinking—skills that translate seamlessly into my design career.
In addition to martial arts, I compete in triathlons and have a deep love for snowboarding and mountain biking, constantly pushing my limits in the outdoors.
